Viridor Waste Management

Background
Viridor is one of the UK’s largest waste management companies, operating across a variety of materials and services. Their core business covers recycling of commercial and household waste, power generation, landfill sites, and the disposal of dry and liquid waste as well as skip hire.

Viridor has been a client of Hare Carding for over ten years. They originally chose Hare Carding for their exhibition and display work, but quickly developed the relationship to produce all corporate literature, photography, advertising and strategic campaigns.


Project Objectives
The client’s brief was to find new commercial customers for its skip hire business, within two geographical regions, for what is a very specific part of their nationwide waste management service.


Our Solution

Hare Carding researched the prospect base and sourced data for building companies in the Bristol and Taunton regions. These companies were targeted with a product specific mailer and a pop-up skip-shaped desk tidy with a strong ‘call to action’. Tele-sales marketing followed two weeks later, achieving a high percentage of new business.

Results
Approximately 25% of follow up calls made resulted in hot leads being passed to Viridor sales staff, of which a high percentage were turned into new business. Hare Carding is now using the same principle to target the glass recycling part of Viridor’s business, with a campaign targeting licensed retailers and local authorities.
