Background
Tenpin is a leisure and entertainment group operating both
Tenpin and Megabowl brands providing a nationwide chain
of bowling complexes for a wide range of customers. Key
targets are families and young people. Hare Carding has
worked with Megabowl for over five years on a variety of
projects and campaigns to drive sales as well as raise
brand awareness.

The development of a consistent
and contemporary brand image across the portfolio of

Our Solution
Initial work with the client involved the creation of a
brand framework which would consistently portray the
brand across a disparate range of materials used by the
head office and the thirty nine individual sites across
the UK. Project deliverables ranged from location signage
through to advertisements, direct mail and promotional
flyers. Key elements of the project included the specification
of typefaces as well as the introduction of a graphical
character theme. The layout principles needed to be both
appealing to the market and provide a foundation for
future campaign concepts. It was important that, in an
active leisure marketplace, the brand is instantly recognisable.
The Future
Moving forward, the portfolio will be entirely re-branded
as Tenpin which, in itself, will require careful management
to ensure brand consistency across the Group during the
process – retaining the values for future benefit
and effectively managing dual trading.
